More About Jesus

Close-up of Jesus walking barefoot through shallow ocean water during sunset or sunrise with stormy clouds and rain

He came from Heaven, where rivers never freeze, cold winds never blow, frosts never chill the air, and flowers never fade. There, people never phone for a doctor, for no one is ever sick. There are no undertakers and no graveyards, for no one ever dies.

He was born contrary to the laws of nature, lived in poverty, and was reared in obscurity. In childhood, He crossed the boundary of the land only once. He had no wealth or influence and had neither training nor tertiary education.

In infancy, He startled a king; in boyhood, He puzzled the lawyers; and in manhood, He ruled the course of nature. He walked on the waves and hushed the raging sea to sleep. He healed multitudes without medicine and made no charge for His services.

He never wrote a book, yet libraries contain countless books written about Him. He never wrote a song, yet thousands of songs have been written and sung about Him. He was not a heart surgeon, yet He has healed multitudes of broken hearts.

He never marshalled an army, drafted a soldier, nor fired a gun, yet no leader ever made more volunteers who have, under His orders, made rebels stack arms or surrender without a shot being fired.

He is the Bright and Morning Star, the Rock of Ages, the Lion and the Lamb. He calms every storm and heals all diseases.

Great men have come and gone, yet He lives on. Herod could not kill Him, Satan could not seduce Him, death could not destroy Him, and the grave could not hold Him.

He laid aside His kingly robe for a peasant’s cloak. He was rich, yet for our sakes He became poor. Ask Mary! Ask the Wise Men!

He slept in a manger, a feed trough. He cruised the lake in another man’s boat. He rode on another man’s donkey. He was buried in another man’s tomb.

He is the Saviour. He came to seek the lost. He came to give rest to the weary. He gave His life that we might have life.
